President's Message
Fellow Rotarians:
Thank you for the opportunity to lead our Rotary Club into the 2007 - 8 year. I am fortunate that the Rotary Club of Victoria has so many talented and accomplished members to whom I will look for inspiration and advice.
The theme that Rotary International President Wilfrid J. Wilkinson has chosen for this year is “Rotary Shares”. We want to share Rotary with new members this year by increasing our membership by at least two. We will continue to share our resources and talents within our own community with an emphasis on safety for families, assisting people with disabilities and improving the environment. We will lead our fellow Greater Victoria Rotary Clubs in an important international project, and continue to support the work of Rotary International through the RI Foundation. We want to bring some variation to our regular meetings that will add interest while providing opportunities for fellowship.
Our District Governor Norm Watts is asking us to reach out to young people this year. Let us teach them the values and dedication of Rotary. Show them the enthusiasm and the satisfaction of being a Rotarian. We can help young people see Rotary in their future. To that end we encourage you to bring young people to our meetings so we may enjoy their ideas and share in their achievements.
We can all be proud of our Club's 94 years of accomplishments. Each of our former Presidents has brought new ideas and visions to our club and for our future and my goal will be to continue that proud heritage.
Have fun, enjoy and share Rotary!
