In addition to a description of Allan's proposed music endeavour we will have the pleasure to present a cheque to the Queen Alexandria Hospital for approximately $15,000 representing the proceeds of the Silent Auction held at the Valentine's Ball which took place at the Union club in February.
Ms Jennifer Jasechko, Vice President of the QA Foundation and Ms Jane Bowers, Manager, Special Events QA Foundation, will be giving a Power Point presentation on the Foundation's work and will highlight how the Rotary Valentine's Ball has helped children in our community.

We had a superb contingent to celebrate Burns Day at Rotary: our majestic piper Jamie Orr; our fine toaster to the Haggis and tenor of note John Davidson, our incomparable purveyor of Scottish tunes on the piano Susan Smedley and our own eminent and beloved Jim Cutt as Master of Ceremonies, with Scottish Terry Jones toasting the lassies. Sadly the haggis had been horribly mutilated in the kitchen but this did not dampen the John's enthusiasm in his address.

Greater Victoria Chamber of Commerce
Shannon will speak about the business and economic landscape in Greater Victoria. She will discuss the key issues that need to be addressed in our community to move forward with continued prosperity. Ms. Renault will also provide a sketch as to the work the Greater Victoria Chamber has been doing in the community on these key issues.
Shannon Renault is the Manager of Policy Development and Communications with the Greater Victoria Chamber of Commerce. In that role, she is responsible for researching and developing policy positions in line with the strategic direction of the Chamber, as set out by its Board of Directors. Shannon works closely with the Chamber's CEO and Board to advocate to all three levels of government on issues of importance to the business community.
Shannon has lived in Victoria for 25 years. Her employment experience spans positions in the tourism and employment sectors, as well as running her own small business for 6 years. Shannon has served as a volunteer with a number of community organizations including the
City of Victoria Downtown Advisory Committee, Success by 6, the Youth Employment Project, and her neighbourhood association to name a few. She has a degree in Political Science from the University of Victoria.
