2013-06-05 Mykonos - Delos
Photo Date 5/6/13 11:03:35 AM Greece Holiday 2013-06-5 Mykonos - Delos Day 2 in Mykonos dedicated to our return to Delos to see the other part of the ruins we missed in 2012. Those 'fluffy'-looking scrubs are the nastiest, thorniest beasties I have seen. They are stiff to push on (with a foot) and probably could penetrate leather chaps. Euphorbia acanthothamnos is a Greek and Aegean endemic plant growing from sea level to over 2000m. A spiny cushion-like shrub which flowers from March to June. It grows mainly in limestone areas. Its name means "thorny bush" in Greek. An accurate description. |
