Day 38 - Queenstown
A bright glorious day !! Left Franz Joseph about 9 am and started on the wat to Queenstown via the Haast Pass. Stopped at Knight's Point where we first got back to the sea, and at the Gates of Haast where there was a waterfall and an opportunity to tak a photo on one of the numberous 'One Lane Bridge's.
THe scenery coming into Queenstown was absolutely spectacular when we got to the Lake Wakana/Hawea region.
Queenstown was a charming city - small and perfect for the pedestrian and sight-seeing. Everyone was out enjoying the 24 deg weather - quite warm for the end of October. People were on the beach, picnicing in the park and preparing for the All Blacks game that evening. We ate outdoors at the Guilty pub and had AB Burger Specials (AB = All Blacks).
