Travel Down Under - Sept 2010
Day 31 - Auckland Day 2
Set out in the car to do some highlights of Auckland - we had a wonderful sunny day, much better that the overcast of yesterday.
First went to One Tree Hill, a misnomer because the 'one tree' at the summit had been vandalized a few years ago and they have not decided what type of tree to replace it with.
Next we went along the Tamaki drive along the harbour, looked at the multi-million dollar homes in Parnell, stopped near Kelly Tarltons and walked along the shore at Bastion Point. Next went up to Savage Memorial Park overlooking the Harbour. Next drove past the VERY popular (for locals) Mission Bay Beach> Further on St Heliers Beach was also popular but a bit rockier. Drove back to town via the suburbs.
Last part of the afternoon after lunch was at the Auckland Domaine - museum grounds, Winter Gardens, Fernery and great park grounds.
