Budapest Walking Tour
We spent three days in Budapest prior to the start of the cruise. We stayed at the Hilton Buda hotel in the heart of historic old Buda. On Day 2 we had a walking tour organized by Viking as part of the pre-tour package.
Remains of a gothic church erected in honour of Maria Magdalena for the Hungarian congregation sometime before 1276. The medieval church of the Hungarians was completely destroyed in the siege of Budapest in World War II. They only managed to rebuild its tower, base walls and one of its windows, but these are enough to get a feel of the size of this 13th century church.
