The Dalles Along the Columbia River

As we drove further east past the Bonneville Dam there was a dramatic change in the countryside. West of the dam the land was lush with a lot of forested area. It quickly became more arid steppe land which showed that there was much lower rainfall. Approaching The Dalles it was semi-desert terrain.
