Our picnic spot. There were about 50 harbour seals dining in the small bay.
We started in the dunes area by looking for a picnic table - in vain. We ended up eating our picnic on a rock -- but the dunes were worth the slight inconvenience. Out-of-season the area was practically deserted. We did talk with a black fellow who recounted to us that he had sold his home in Oakland overlooking the Bay Bridge and bought his home in Oregon outright.... if times got tough, he could go catch his food!
