Coastal communities in Washington and Oregon seem to be well prepared for tsunami warnings.

Our first multi-day stop was at Newport on the Oregon coast. There were great beaches to walk and the town was charming. In the past it had been one of the first beaches accessible by car in the area and was quite popular.
