Escher-like mosaic on the way to the House of Dionysos. Guided tour of the ruins at Delos in 2012. The guide was very interesting and had lots of anecdotes to tell us. We saw about 65% of the ruins but missed the section to the east where there is an ampitheatre and other substantial buildings. The ruins of ancient Delos extend north and south along the coast and consist of four main areas: the Maritime Quarter (next to the harbor); Theater District (southeast of the harbor - we did not go there); Sanctuary of Apollo (north of the harbor in the center of the site); and Lion District (north end of the ruins).
